TCCRI builds its policy research and development efforts around the organization’s highly successful Task Force model. This model brings together legislators and other public and private sector leaders to discuss the most critical policy issues facing the state. Each interim, TCCRI convenes a series of issue-specific Task Forces to develop policy recommendations for the upcoming legislative session. The Task Forces are chaired by members of the Texas House and Senate. Each Task Force issues a final report in the lead-up to the legislative session containing specific policy recommendations. The 2024 Task Forces will issue their reports in advance of the 89th Texas Legislature, which convenes in January 2025.
