TCCRI Announces New Board Chairman, President, and New Board Members
At its annual meeting on January 25th, the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute’s (TCCRI) board of directors unanimously voted to elect Senator Phil King (SD 10) as the new Chairman of its board. “Senator King has served on TCCRI’s board for more than a decade and we are proud to work under his leadership into the future,” said TCCRI Executive Director, Tom Aldred. “His unwavering commitment to TCCRI’s founding principles of Limited Government, Individual Liberty, Free Enterprise, and Traditional Values is unmatched and we are thrilled that he will now serve as our Board Chairman,” Aldred added.
Senator King will replace former TCCRI Board Chairman, Larry Taylor, who will transition from the board to a staff role as TCCRI’s staff President. “Between twenty years served in the Texas Legislature and eight years as TCCRI’s Board Chairman, Larry Taylor has the experience and organizational knowledge that make him uniquely qualified to help grow TCCRI’s stature and influence,” said new Board Chairman Senator King. “We have worked closely with Senator Taylor for a long time and I am delighted to welcome him to our team so that we can continue to work alongside him in advancing conservative policy in Texas,” said Aldred.
The TCCRI board also added several new directors from both the public and private sectors. From the public sector, the board added Representative Tom Oliverson (HD 130) and Representative Dennis Paul (HD 129). From the private sector, the board elected Mindy Carr (Oncor), Carrie Simmons (Texas Lobby Group), and David White (Public Blueprint).

TCCRI was founded in 1996 by a group of state leaders determined to implement conservative public policies in state government. TCCRI has been very successful in living up to its mission of shaping public policy through a principled approach to government. The work of TCCRI is based upon the four core principles of Limited Government, Individual Liberty, Free Enterprise, and Traditional Values. Together, they form the LIFT principles and underpin the work of TCCRI’s board of directors and staff.
