The display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings is a longstanding national tradition that stands as a symbol of law and moral conduct with both religious and secular significance.

Thanks to the legislature's passage of Senate Bill 10 (King, P, SP: Noble), each public elementary and secondary school in Texas that owns or has been donated copies of the Ten Commandments is required to display them in each of its classrooms. As Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has noted:

For believing Jews and Christians, the Ten Commandments are the word of God handed down to Moses on Mount Sinai, but the image of the Ten Commandments has also been used to convey other meanings. They have historical significance as one of the foundations of our legal system, and for largely that reason, they are depicted in the marble frieze in our courtroom and in other prominent public buildings in our Nation’s capital.

The display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings is a longstanding national tradition that stands as a symbol of law and moral conduct with both religious and secular significance. The introduction of these symbols to our state’s classrooms presents students with a universal moral foundation that emphasizes America’s founding ideals amid today’s moral confusion.

However, with nearly 10,000 public primary and secondary schools across Texas, the implementation of SB 10 is a monumental task that requires grassroots efforts to ensure that each classroom is appropriately supplied to comply with the law. Since schools are only required to display the Ten Commandments in their classrooms if they own or have had posters donated to them, it is up to the residents of Texas to ensure the implementation of SB 10.

As a result, TCCRI has partnered with a coalition of organizations to present our fellow Texans with an opportunity to make a visible and positive impact on their local community. At restoreamericanclassrooms.com, you can select the school(s) in your area, purchase posters for just $1 each (including shipping), and follow a simple step-by-step guide to donate them to your local school and district. If Texans across the state participate, we can ensure that the Ten Commandments are restored to every classroom in our great state.

We encourage you to involve your family, neighbors, or church small group in this important effort.

Please adopt a school and be part of this historic movement to restore our values and history to the classroom!
